I feel sorry for the thousands of young witnesses who actually believe that and have their sex life destroyed forever. As a young witness EVERYTHING that has to do with sex if bad, filthy, unclean etc. And the minute you are married, everything sex is all of a sudden wholesome, good, clean etc. How does your brain make that switch? How cruel to communicate these harmful things to young ones.

Kim Mitchell!!!! Love this guy!! He plays better than eddie van Halen! I think her never made it big because his compositions are not that strong.

my loudmouthed sister asked if there were any announcements.
the bookstudy is hereafter known as "the congregation bible study".

My elderly Mom in Europe was told that the reason for the Bookstudy change were the gas prices. I thought she misunderstood, because it sounded so rediculous. But when I read the comments here this morning, I noticed it must have been part of the GB letter! Who would seriously believe that that was the reason? ?
Well, with the WTS going more and more corporate, it's just a way to legally gain more control over the meetings and the followers. Sad. I so want to get my poor old mother out of the WTS, but it's all she has. She lives in the boondocks, and depends heavily on the "friends" for groceries and doctor's visits. I don't want to take that away from her...

Effects of the changes if the book study is amalgamated with the TMS

1) no more private book study arrangements.
the book study host will ask themselves "why?".

Thank you very kindly! - I'm so glad I joined! Instead of finding 'drunkards, fornicators, criminals etc' , as predicted by the WTS, so far I have only found sincere and kind people on this web site. The sky did not fall down, and I was not hit by lightening! LOL - Instead I feel more spritually encouraged and detemerned to study the Bible than in all of my 30+ years as a witness. The story of Raymond Franz opened my eyes. I'm proud to be part of this.

How the new "generation" study went down in the meeting today
by slimboyfat ini made a big effort to get to the watchtower study today.
i have not been to the meetings much for months, but i figured this was a pretty historic "study" and i wanted to see reactions and how it would go down locally.
well a few things struck me as a bit odd in the study itself, and in the audience response as well.

I spoke with my 76 year old (witness) mother over the phone yesterday after that meeting. She was all depressed and said the same thing. I haven't been at the meetings for over 3 years, so I didn't know about the 1914 'new light' study. What a joke...
All her life she lived in fear of Armageddon. Didn't dare to go on vacation every (Armageddon may come when I'm traveling!). She has been motivated by fear and guilt for over 50 years.

Was this announced on the Bookstudy? I have not been to the meetings for over 3 years. 46 yrs old, male. Born and raised as a witness. Completely burned out with the wts 3 yrs ago, never went back, but Happy and Cheerful every since! :-)
